  Born in Joplin, MO; raised all over the US. Graduated Summerville High School, SC, and The Citadel. Also, AA from Midlands Tech, and Masters from USC. Served 4 years Air Force Security Police, 20 years Air Force Office of Special Investigations; retired USAF-Reserve (Lt. Col.). Three years as Sumter County deputy sheriff and investigator, four years as chief investigator with State DSS, three years as captain with Greenville Co. Sheriff's Dept., 18 years with the SC Criminal Justice Academy as an instructor and training coordinator. Retired from SCCJA in Dec. 2000. Two years were spent as a hippie biker. Five years part-time with Richland Co. Sheriff's Dept. coordinating auxiliary manpower program (reserve deputies and state constables) and directing the  Sheriff's Leadership Development Program. Still kicking.
