I started motorcycling
in 1967 when I got my first dirt bike, it was a Yamaha 360,
stripped it down and went motorcross racing. In 1971 I started
selling motorcycles for a dealer in Columbia, the next year I
was general manager for Suzuki City in Columbia. If I remember
correctly I got chased by the Highway Patrol so much that in
1973 I became a member of the South Carolina Highway Patrol. It
was fun in the 70's. In 1983 I joined the USC Police Dept. and
advanced thru the ranks to Captain and Inspector. During that
time there were a lot of different jobs, but the best of all was
in 1989 when I took over the Carolina Coliseum and Koger Center.
I was still with the PD but I managed security for all of the
events at the two facilities. A lot of great shows, concerts
and basketball games and all of the Williams-Brice stadium
concerts. Retired from the state in Oct.05, I am now with the
Richland County Sherriff's Dept. as a firearms and driving
instructor. I started with the Blue Knights sc 1 in the
beginning when the chapter was formed and there have been a lot
of great times over 20 years with all of the Blue Knight
members. This is the best organization for motorcycle riding
with your friends and other members of law enforcement. No
matter where you go with the Blue Knights everybody is your
friend.......
REMEMBER, YOU ARE A BLUE KNIGHT, "RIDE
WITH PRIDE"
