I have lived in Columbia, South Carolina all my life. After high school and service in the Navy I joined the Columbia Police Department in 1966 as a beat officer and worked my way up through the ranks. I retired in 1991 as a Captain and have retained my commission as a Group II State Constable. I am married to Jeanne Swails Crump and we have two daughters, one son and two grandsons. I began riding Harleys in 1968 when I was assigned to the Traffic Division. I currently have a 2004 Harley Ultra Classic and Jeanne' has a 2000 Harley Heritage Softail. I have been a BK SC-1 member since 1997 and Jeanne' since 1999.  

I held the office of Director for two years prior to becoming the Treasurer in 2000 until 2005. Jeanne' and I value our friendship with the members of BK SC-1 and other Blue Knight chapters that we have established through the years.
