Born at Fort
Knox, KY, I grew up the son of a career Army officer and traveled extensively
during my childhood. After graduating from Western Kentucky University in
1972 with a BA in Mass Communications, I began my government career with the IRS
in Lexington, KY. In 1983, after 11 years with IRS, I transferred to the
US Customs Service, Office of Investigations. During my Customs career,
I’ve worked in marine and air smuggling units, general investigations in
Columbia, SC, Oxford, MS, and McAllen, TX. In McAllen, I served as a Group
Supervisor over a drug smuggling group. In 2002, I returned to Columbia,
SC, to manage the office. My pastimes include motorcycling, golf,
and participation in various law enforcement groups and activities. Since
returning to Columbia, I’ve enjoyed the camaraderie and fellowship of Blue
Knights SC 1.
